A Wexford GAA steward has called on the county's hurling manager Liam Dunne to be hauled before a disciplinary committee.

An alleged incident took place before Wexford's NHL quarterfinal clash against Kilkenny at Wexford Park that saw the home county seek to gain entry to the grounds as the gates were late being opened.

Wexford Park chief steward Dave Ormonde stated in a letter to the county board that he felt threatened and intimidated when approached to open the gates and he requested that the incident be dealt with by the county's disciplinary body.

County Board delegates were made aware of the letter at the most recent monthly meeting, but Chairman Diarmuid Devereux interjected and stated that he would deal with the matter.

Speaking to the Wexford People he said: "I will deal with the matter. We are heading into the most important months of the year, with an important championship game against the round robin winners and then hopefully a clash with Dublin at Wexford. This is a matter I will deal with."
