Ryan: we're a work in progress

Limerick minor manager Brian Ryan was satisfied with his side's performance against Tipperary in the Munster MHC first round, but stressed that there was work to be done.

The defending provincial champions got off to a great start when they defeated Tipp by 3-17 to 2-11 at the Gaelic Grounds last Thursday night.

Backboned by a number of last year's successful side, Limerick look very strong again this year, but Ryan was keen to play down the performance when talking to the Limerick Leader.

"Overall we are pleased enough, but it's a work in progress. It's only April 10th and we have eight or nine weeks to the next game," stated Ryan.

That next game is against Cork and Ryan knows that they will have to step it up again against the Rebels.

"Cork in the semi final and Cork will be good. They had a good win over Kerry. I know the opposition probably wasn't the strongest, but Cork will be out to get one over us - we have it here in the Gaelic Grounds, which is home advantage and hopefully we can add to this."
