Corofin And Their Success
Corofins secret? Frank Morris; a rare GAA man and on helluva Economics teacher in his time! More of him and Galway'd be the Kilkenny of the football world!

Corofin And Their Success
The size of the parish cant be an excuse for others about corofins success.. Ya it helps but look at areas such as tuam, claregalway, city teams, i can assure you that population wise they have far more than corofin has and thats a fact.. Look at kilkenny in the hurling, a very small county but produces endless talent.. If size was the case why arnt counties like waterford, galway or cork not the best hurling teams.. They are far bigger than kilkenny.. Corofin were once a club with little success back many yeats ago.. It didnt just happen overnight.. It took dedication from many people and yes Frank Morris was one of these to help transform the club..

Galway Minors vs Cork All-Ireland semi-final
@ throw_it_over

its very hard to blame the corner backs as the cork players were walking through the half-back line and leaving the corner backs with 2 players to mark!! i think varley and macdonnacha had a solid game and were just unprotected from the outside.

fair play to the lads and the management this year, not many people expected them to get to croker this year so well done!

Corofin And Their Success
you can often have a great club team full of committed players playing to a well rehearsed system but few of them may be of county standard.
corofin's detractors will say that they have the pick of five parishes! but there is no doubt that the structures and level of organisation they put in place many years ago is the single biggest reason for their success.

Corofin And Their Success
The size of their parish has a lot to do with it.............. I'd be more interested in why they can't transfer their success to the maroon Jersey.

Corofin And Their Success
As we all know Corofin have had sustained success over the last 15 years at all age groups in the county. My question is this....what are they doing differently that other clubs are not doing? I've often heard about Frank Morris and underage structures etc, but how do these differ from other clubs?
Have other clubs started to copy their methods, as they are clearly doing something right?

A Year Til Sunday!
I find it very interesting how there will always be people who say that a certain team were lucky to win an All-Ireland or whatever. It doesn't matter how good a team is, they almost always need a bit of luck along the way. I can guarentee you if you look at almost all the all Ireland champions in both codes over the years they all had a certain amount of look. It goes for other team sports aswell. Most of the teams that have won the Uefa Champions League had luck, but that doesn't take away from the face that they were the best team.

So basically what I am saying is that Galway were the best team in 1998 despite the bit of luck they had along the way.

A Year til Sunday is certainly one of the best GAA or indeed sport documents I've seen.
