The late David Mockler The untimely and unexpected death of David Mockler, Clooncannon, Ahascragh was the source of great shock and sadness. The was reflected in the very large numbers who visited his home where he reposed and who attended the Funeral Mass and burial. David (24) was a young man who was loved by all who knew him, a talented hurler with his local club Ahascragh-Fohenagh and a talented carpenter in his life of work. He had established his own business having completed his apprenticeship with Collevy Construction, Mountbellew. His remains reposed at his residence before being moved to St. Cuan's Church, Ahascragh. The burial took place to the New Cemetery, Ahascragh after Concelebrated Mass of the Resurrection. The Concelebrants included Very Rev. Fr Francis Glennon P.P., Ahascragh, Very Rev. Fr Sean Egan P.P. Fohenagh, Rev. Fr Brendan Dunning C.C Caltra and Rev. Fr Pat Kelly (Missionary Brazil and Ahascragh). Fr Glennon, in the Homily of the Mass spoke to David's short but rich life and extended sympathy to his family. The Liturgy was enhanced by the singing of his nieces Orla and Niamh, Joseph Fitzgerald (friend) and music by Elaine Davis. He is survived by his fiancee, Caroline Nolan; his darling daughters, Lauren and Nicloe; parents, Seamus and Marian; brother, Cyril; sister Linda; grandmother, Mrs Eileen Brennan, Ballygar; uncles, aunt; Caroline's parents Josie and Bridgie Nolan, grand-aunts, grand-uncle, godparents, cousins, relatives and a large host of friends.
