Dolan: we stood off them

St Brigid's player/manager Frankie Dolan admitted that teams will get punished when you give a side with the class of Corofin too much time and space.

That is what Dolan feels happened in last Sunday's Connacht club SFC final, which the Galway side romped to victory.

The game was effectively over at half time as Corofin led by 1-08 to 0-03 and Dolan was annoyed that his charges stood off their men so much.

"I'm not surprised they were All-Ireland champions the year before last, but we knew all about them and how good they were," Dolan told the Westmeath Independent.

"We gave them too much space, we stood off them, they could do what they wanted. They bossed us and bullied us around the field which is disappointing from our point of view.

"Probably the only ones that really stood up were Darragh Donnelly and Darragh Sheehy but after that we were shocking poor all over the field. You'll have days like that and it's a disappointment but that's life."
