St Brigid's were powerless to prevent Corofin from marching to a seventh Connacht Club SFC success in Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada today.

The Galway champions underlined their All-Ireland winning credentials with a surprisingly comfortable 2-13 to 0-5 victory.

Michael Farragher and Jason Leonard found the back of the St Brigid's net in either half to ease their side to a 14 point winning margin.

The game was effectively over as a contest at the halfway stage with Kevin O'Brien's team enjoying a 1-8 to 0-3 cushion.

A paltry two points was all St Brigid's could summon in response after the resumption while a red card issued to Darren Dolan didn't help their cause.

Half-forward Leonard rubbed salt into their wounds when raising a second green flag in the 47th minute and the team in green and gold will now turn their attention to an All-Ireland semi-final clash with Dr Crokes or The Nire next February.

Leonard and Farragher finished with 1-3 and 1-2 respectively while Gary Sice chipped in with four points for the winners.

On this form, they are in with every chance of repeating their All-Ireland success of 2015.
