A 46th minute Sean Skehill goal swung the Galway SHC final in St Thomas' favour in Pearse Stadium.

Played in inclement weather conditions, the 2013 All-Ireland Club champions prevailed on a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-10 against Gort.

The winners overturned a 0-6 to 0-7 half-time deficit and Skehill's green flag was crucial during a purple patch in which they hit 1-4 without reply.

Both teams finished with 14 men as both Tadhg Linnane (Gort) and Gerald Kelly (St Thomas') were shown red cards in added-on time.

Conor Cooney top scored for the winners with 0-6 (all frees) while Aidan Helebert can consider himself unfortunate to have finished up on the losing side after his return of 0-8 (6 frees).
