Galway captain David Burke says the Tribesmen remained positive after their Leinster SHC final defeat.

The westerners came in for some unwarranted stick in the wake of their defeat to Kilkenny but bounced back by beating Clare on Sunday to reach the last four:

"All I tried to do since the Leinster final and the criticism that was thrown at us is tell the lads how good they are," Burke told The Irish Daily Star.

"They are really good players, a really good team, and no one else matters, just do it for themselves and their families.

"That's all we're doing at the end of the day. It's an amateur game, amateur sport. We're doing it for the joy."
