Galway manager Micheal Donoghue has stressed that they need to be at the top of their game if they are to defeat Clare in Sunday's All-Ireland SHC quarterfinal.

The pressure is on the Tribesmen to deliver a performance following their loss to Kilkenny in the Leinster final.

Donoghue is only too well aware of this and the Clarinbridge man admitted to the Connacht Tribune that a fast start was imperative.

"It's a huge game and we will need to produce our best performance of the year to reach the semi-finals. We will need to hit the ground running," said Donohue.

He added: "The mood is really good in the camp and I'm very happy with how the past week has gone. Clare won't be easily beaten, but I believe our lads are ready."
