It was double scores at Kiltoom tonight as Galway advanced to the Connacht minor football final, defeating Roscommon by 3-11 to 1-7.

And the Tribe will have home advantage for the provincial decider, which is slated for Pearse Stadium on July 10th. Opposition will be provided by Mayo, who accounted for Leitrim just s easily in Carrick-on-Shannon tonight.

This game was done at dusted at the break, with the winners having built up an unassailable 2-7 to 0-2 lead.

Evan Murphy netted both first-half majors, the first from the penalty spot in the fifth minute and the second four minutes from the break to leave ten between the teams, 2-5 to 0-1.

A free from captain Desmond Conneely got the victors up and running and Daniel Glynn opened the hosts' account after Murphy's successful penalty.

Barry Goldrick, Murphy (free), Robert Finnerty and Sean Thornton all added to the away team's tally before Murphy's second major settled the game as any sort of meaningful contest.

Murphy and Ciaran Lennon traded the last two points of the first half as the players left the pitch with eleven points separating them.

To their credit, the Rossies fared better in the second half, outscoring their guests by 1-5 to 1-4, although they never looked like getting back into contention. Ciaran Lennon, James Fetherstone and Cathal Heneghan plundered the first three scores of the second half and Galway didn't add to their tally until the 18th minute, when Finnerty made it 2-8 to 0-5.

Brian Derwin tucked away a Roscommon penalty six minutes from the end and the losers also pulled back points through Lennon and goalkeeper Liam Cregg ('45') but McGoldrick stuck away a third Galway goal late on as they booked their passage to the provincial final - and the All-Ireland series.
