On Sunday, Mountbellew-Moylough's Joe Bergin will contest his second Galway SFC final.

The former Galway star has been lining out for his club at senior level for 18 seasons but has yet to taste the biggest prize in Galway club football.

As he prepares to tog out against holders Corofin this weekend, he told The Tuam Herald: "We were very disappointed to lose the replay and draw the first day against Corofin in '09.

"Thought we'd get back there the following year, got to a semi-final and slipped up. That just goes to show it's hard to get to county finals so we're very happy to be back there.

"There's a new team. There's six or seven of us still there involved from '09 but a lot of young lads have come through and added a bit of fresh impetus that has really just brought us to another level again."
