Gort and Portumna will meet in a huge Galway SHC quarter-final next weekend after they were paired together in yesterday's draw.
The game will be a repeat of last December's county final, which saw Gort end Portumna's reign as Galway and All-Ireland champions in decisive fashion. In the other quarter-finals, Craughwell will take on Liam Mellows, Loughrea will face 2013 All-Ireland champions St. Thomas', while Padraig Pearses will meet Sarsfields.
In yesterday's games, Gort thumped Athenry 2-27 to 0-15, Padraig Pearses beat Kiltormer 0-23 to 1-5 and Clarinbridge defeated Ardrahan 2-16 to 0-13.
Meanwhile, 2004 All-Ireland champions Caltra have retained their Galway SFC status thanks to a narrow 0-14 to 1-10 victory over Barna in yesterday's relegation playoff.
