Anthony Cunningham has been reappointed as Galway senior hurling manager for another season.

Twenty-sixteen will be Cunningham's fifth year at the helm as he strives to deliver a first All-Ireland title to the Tribe since 1988. The St Thomas clubman has brought the team to two All-Ireland finals but they have twice come up short against Kilkenny.

Galway County Committee last night ratified Cunningham as manager, while also confirming that football boss Kevin Walsh would remain for the second year of his agreed three-year term.

Meanwhile, All-Ireland MHC-winning manager Jeffrey Lynskey will also remain on and will have 14 members of his all-conquering 2015 squad available again.
