Galway manager Anthony Cunningham is adamant that his charges can bounce back from their latest All-Ireland SHC defeat.

A highly fancied Galway side went down to old rivals Kilkenny in the final last Sunday and it was a crushing blow to the Tribesmen who looked imperious during the first half.

Cunningham has a task on his hands in rallying his troops for next year, but he admitted to the Connacht Tribune that he is confident that they will respond to the call.

"Yes, it's a massive challenge. It's something we spoke about in the dressingroom. It can go up or we can stay the same level. If we stay the same level, we won't be back here," stressed Cunningham.

"So we've got to work harder and get better. But with the amount of players that we have and the talent that we have it is definitely within our grasp to do that. A huge amount of that is down to the players, and to kick on from that."
