Ballygar U14 Hurlers All Ireland Regional Feile Winners 2015

Ballygar Under 14 Hurlers had a fantastic Feile na nGael weekend, capturing the All-Ireland Hurling Regional Feile title, defeating Shinrone (Offaly) on scoreline of Ballygar 2-8 to 0-3 Shinrone. The final itself was preceded by well-orchestrated parade, which added greatly to the atmosphere. Shinrone started strong and pushed at us but Ballygar kept knocking over the points to keep Shinrone forever in our sights, leaving the half time score level. Once the referee blew for the second half, Ballygar took over, every man playing to their strengths and scoring two vital goals to secure an All Ireland medal. This day will forever go down in history as an unbeatable under 14 squad who played with Ballygar and Galway in their hearts. This bunch of players showed tremendous team work from start to finish, throughout the competition,
defeating all 4 teams from Wexford, Limerick, Clare and Offaly and
scoring a total of 10 goals and 29 points.

The bonfires and colour that welcomed us on the homecoming and the tour of the parish was very special indeed and something that will live long in the memories of everyone involved. Ballygar Hurling Club would like to sincerely thank everyone throughout the parish for their contribution, attendance and well wishes.

In their earlier games Ballygar defeated Buffers Alley of Wexford, Eire Og of Ennis and St Patrick's of Limerick. The scores were Ballygar 2-09 Buffers Alley (Wexford) 1-01, Ballygar 4-04 Eire Og (Ennis) 1-03, Ballygar 2-08 St. Patrick's (Limerick) 2-02. A special word of thanks goes to our hosts - St Patrick's GAA Club of Limerick for their unbelievable and sincere hospitality.
