Galway manager Anthony Cunningham believes that Laois' improvement is continuing on an upward curve.

The Tribesmen have become familiar with the O'Moore County in recent years having played them in the 2013 and 2014 championships.

And the sides will meet again this Saturday evening as they clash in the Leinster SHC semi-final. Galway go into the match as strong favourites, having hammered Dublin, while Laois defeated Offaly for the first time since 1972 to book their place in the last four.

Speaking to the Connacht Tribune, Cunningham is certainly adopting a cautious approach to this game and is giving their opponents the utmost respect.

"I saw Laois against Offaly and they are definitely a better side than what they were the last two years. I don't think they are getting the credit they deserve," said Cunningham.

"They were well organised, very well coached, very well structured in their set-up, playing a sweeper. They have a style of play, no more than Waterford, but it is a different style of play and it is a unique style that gets a lot of scores. They are definitely going to be a hard team to beat and I am not just saying that."
