Video: "That heart attack was nothing to do with me!"

Michael Lyster and Joe Brolly

If Sunday Game anchor Michael Lyster has his way, he could be back on our TV screens as early as next week.

Galway native Lyster revealed the details of his brush with death in yesterday's Sunday Independent newspaper and how his wife Anne saved his life by administering CPR as she waited for an ambulance to arrive at their south Dublin home.

Joe Brolly paid his Sunday Game colleague a visit in St Vincent's Hospital yesterday morning and, speaking at half-time of the Connacht SFC semi-final between Mayo and Galway, the Derry All-Ireland winner joked: "That heart attack was nothing to do with me, I asked the medical staff!"

On a more serious note, he added: "I should say this because I know a lot of people are anxious, he looks great, you wouldn't believe he had a heart attack.

"He said 'I think I'll be able to do the programme next week' and you should have seen the look of horror on his wife Anne's face!

"But he was quite serious, he looks great and it's very reassuring to see him looking so well."
