The Mayo starting fifteen to face Galway in the Connacht SFC semi-final at Pearse Stadium on Sunday shows only two new faces from last year's All-Ireland semi-final replay defeat to Kerry.

Cillian O'Connor returns to the attack after overcoming a long-term knee injury and will line out at full forward alongside Andy Moran and Jason Doherty.

For their first championship game in charge, joint-managers Noel Connelly and Pat Holmes have shaken things up from the last league outing against Donegal in April with six changes in total. David Clarke, Tom Cunniffe, Chris Barrett, Tom Parsons, O'Connor and Moran all get the nod.

There are a few surprise inclusions with Clarke, who will start his first championship game since 2013, preferred to Rob Hennelly in goal and Kevin Keane starting at full-back ahead of Ger Cafferkey. Donal Vaughan is another notable absentee.

It will be Parsons first championship start for Mayo in five years. The Charlestown man is chosen at midfield with Seamus O'Shea.

Mayo (SF v Galway) - David Clarke; Chris Barrett, Kevin Keane, Keith Higgins; Lee Keegan, Tom Cunniffe, Colm Boyle; Seamus O'Shea, Tom Parsons; Diarmuid O'Connor, Aidan O'Shea, Kevin McLoughlin; Andy Moran, Cillian O'Connor, Jason Doherty.
