Cork 0-14
Galway 1-10

A late point from Rena Buckley proved to be the difference as Cork edged out Galway in a thrilling Division 1 final replay in Portlaoise this evening.

Eamonn Ryan's charges lifted their third title in-a-row (and ninth in ten years!) thanks to Buckley's winning score from distance with two minutes left on the clock.

Moments earlier, Valerie Mulcahy's seventh point of the contest had levelled matters and Galway were, once again, left to contemplate what might have been.

The team from the west were left to rue a missed penalty by Annette Clarke and they finished the game with 14 players after their captain Geraldine Conneally was sin-binned with nine minutes remaining.

The Rebelettes led by 0-10 to 1-5 at the halfway stage despite having conceded the game's only goal to Patricia Gleeson in the 26th minute.
