The late Keith Davis

The funeral took place earlier today of 21-year-old Glenamaddy footballer Keith Davis, who died at the weekend from injuries he sustained in a car crash on March 29.

Keith was initially taken to Galway University Hospital following the single-vehicle collision, but was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, where he lost his fight for life on Friday.

Hailing from a well-known sporting family, the deceased also coached the Glenamaddy-Williamstown U16 girls football team.

"Between training and coaching, he was involved with the club for the last four or five years," Glenamaddy-Williamstown ladies football chairman Peter Clarke said.

"He was heavily involved in soccer as well."

May he rest in peace.
