Flynn expecting tough test

April 03, 2015

Galway under-21 manager Alan Flynn is adamant that his charges will have to be at their best, if they are to see off the challenge of Roscommon in the Connacht football final.

The sides meet at Tuam Stadium on Saturday evening with Galway defeating old rivals Mayo in a tight semi-final, while Roscommon trounced Sligo.

Roscommon have been impressive at this level in recent years and are the defending provincial champions. Flynn stressed to the Connacht Tribune that it will take a massive effort from his side to win the title.

"We are under no illusions about what we are coming up against, but we are very happy with the way we prepared against Mayo and in the intervening two weeks we are happy how the players have focused in on this game," said Flynn.

"So it is a big challenge but we would be pretty confident that if we perform and give a good account of ourselves we would be there in the shake-up."
