Kieran Fitzgerald admits he is somewhat jealous of the current crop of Galway footballers who are getting the chance to play inter-county football under Kevin Walsh.
The experienced Corofin defender won an All-Ireland medal alongside the new Tribe manager back in 2001and, speaking to The Irish Daily Mirror, he said: "I suppose if things were different, if I was a few years younger, I would really love to give it a crack with Kevin Walsh.
"Kevin is a lovely guy and I know from when I played with him he is great in the dressing room, he is great at getting lads together so I'd imagine he's a great man manager, he'd always cajole lads.
"I hope he does really well. I'd say he'll get everybody on board, but it's the past for me unfortunately."
Fitzgerald missed Corofin's All-Ireland Club quarter-final victory over Tir Conaill Gaels due to an ankle injury but is fit to line out against St Vincent's in tomorrow's penultimate stage clash.
