Galway hurling boss Anthony Cunningham will be without three key players for next month's Allianz League opener against Clare.

Niall Healy is still recovering from the cruciate ligament injury he sustained in a club game last May, while David Burke and Cyril Donnellan are also currently sidelined after undergoing hip and groin operations.

Cunningham could also be without his Gort players for the Pearse Stadium clash on February 15, while Damien Hayes announced his inter-county retirement last week.

The Tribesmen will make their seasonal debut against Westmeath in the Walsh Cup at Cusack Park on Sunday.
