Leinster club SFC final takes centre stage

December 14, 2014

Most of the spotlight will be on the Leinster decider between Rhode and All-Ireland champions St. Vincent's at Pairc Tailteann.

It's the last big Sunday of the year on the GAA front with the Leinster club SFC final, the All-Ireland club SFC quarter-final and the Galway SHC final taking place.

Most of the spotlight will be on the Leinster decider between Rhode and All-Ireland champions St. Vincent's at Pairc Tailteann. The Marino men are unbackable favourites to retain their provincial crown, having gone over two years unbeaten in championship football, but they face tricky opponents in Rhode, who are desperate to end their losing streak in Leinster finals.

The winners of the Leinster final will meet the winners of the All-Ireland quarter-final between London champions Tir Chonaill Gaels and Connacht champions Corofin in Ruislip. The Galway men have been untouchable all year and are many people's favourites to lift the Andy Merrigan Cup on St. Patrick's Day.

The much-delayed Galway hurling final between All-Ireland holders Portumna and Gort takes place in Kenny Park, Athenry, while the two Tipperary SFC semi-finals are also down for decision. Templetuohy hosts the Cahir v Thomas MacDonagh's tie at 2pm and Boherlahan stages the Loughmore-Castleiney v Aherlow Gaels encounter at 1.30pm.
