Corofin double celebrations put on hold

December 04, 2014

Annaghdown are proving sticky opposition to Corofin's county senior football championship / league bid.

While Corofin have already bagged the Galway - and Connacht - SFC, their bid for the Division One league crown is proving less straightforward after Annaghdown held them to a thrilling 0-15 to 3-6 draw after extra time in the decider at Headford on Sunday.

Damien Comer netted twice for the plucky underdogs, who will be no pushover in the replay, which is expected to be fixed for Sunday week, December 21st.

A day prior to that, Corofin meet Barna in the county U21 FC final.

In the meantime, Corofin also have the not-so-small matter of an All-Ireland club quarter-final against Tir Chonail Gaels in Ruislip to negotiate on December 14th.
