Corofin 5-12
St. Michael's 0-9

Corofin justified odds of 1/12 with an emphatic victory over St. Michael's to retain the Frank Fox Cup at Tuam Stadium.

Gary Sice and Micheal Lundy scored 1-5 and 2-1 respectively as the favourites captured their 10th county title since 1997 and their 16th in all.

First-time finalists St. Michael's opened the scoring from an Eddie Hoare free, but it was all one-way traffic after that with Corofin rattling off 2-7 without reply. Lundy started the rout with a fourth-minute goal and Michael Farragher raised a second green flag in the 11th minute to help the winners to a 2-9 to 0-4 interval lead.

The city side battled hard in the third quarter before Lundy's second major in the 46th minute pushed the green and golds further clear. Late goals from Sice and substitute Joe Canney added further gloss to the win.
