Corofin moved a step closer to retaining the Frank Fox Cup when they accounted for Mountbellew Moylough in yesterday's quarter-final at Tuam Stadium.
A Michael Farragher goal late in the first half helped the champions to a 0-6 to 1-2 interval lead and they eventually ran out 1-13 to 1-7 winners.
Corofin's semi-final opponents will be Milltown who edged out 2012 winners Salthill/Knocknacarra on a 1-13 to 0-15 scoreline. Fergal Nicholson' first half goal proved crucial for the team who were widely regarded as the biggest threat to Corofin at the start of the season.
The other semi-final will be contested by St. Michael's and Barna following their respective victories over Annaghdown and Caherlistrane.
County star Eddie Hoare was outstanding as city side St. Michael's ended Annaghdown's championship interests for the second year in-a-row with a 0-12 to 0-11 victory, while Barna caused a surprise by defeating Caherlistrane 2-15 to 1-16.
