Galway football manager Alan Mulholland expects to unleash attacking stalwart Sean Armstrong against Tipperary this weekend.

There were rumblings that the 28-year-old had left the Tribesmen's squad after he missed a training session over the weekend but Mulholland expects him to report for duty tonight.

"The countdown is on to Saturday's game and Sean and the rest of the players are all set for it," he is quoted in The Irish Examiner. "We hope to be selecting from a full hand and that is a boost."

Armstrong has been used only sparingly so far this summer. He missed the opening-round victory over London through injury and was named on the bench for the Connacht semi-final and final against Sligo and Mayo respectively.

He made a positive impression after coming on during the second half of the provincial decider defeat to Mayo earlier this month and could get the nod from the start this weekend.
