100,000 Steps for Cormac.
Join legendary sporting heroes to walk in Cormac's honour to acknowledge his determination, courage and dignity in his fight for life, Aug 28th - 30th.

100,000 Steps for Cormac is a memorial and fundraising walk set up by the family and friends of Cormac Connolly of Castlegar, who died of an inoperable brain tumour, aged 24 on 25th July 2011.

The event, which was launched by the President of the GAA Liam O' Neill last Monday, is set to bring together the greatest collection of All-Ireland Captains in the history of the GAA.

This memorial walk will take place over 3 days at the end of August, giving fans the opportunity to walk with their sporting heroes.

There will be three themed routes visiting All Ireland winning clubs throughout Galway, led by various GAA legends.

Cormac's uncle Joe Connolly, Galway's All-Ireland winning captain in 1980, is very much involved in the event which is set to feature all members of All-Ireland winning Galway Senior teams from 1956-2013, each of the Galway's 94 All Star winners as well as a selection of All-Ireland winning captains from across the country.

The objective of the event is to raise €100,000 for Pieta House, the suicide and self-harm crisis centre, and organisers are hoping for individuals, clubs and businesses alike to show their support with participation and small donations.
