All-Ireland club IHC: Emmetts into last four

November 28, 2011
Robert Emmetts (London) 1-12
Moycullen (Galway) 2-7

London champions Robert Emmetts moved into the last four of the All-Ireland club intermediate hurling champions yesterday with a hard fought win over Moycullen at Ruislip.

A second-half tally of 0-5 from Galway native Maurice Callanan proved central to the Exiles' victory which sees them into a semi-final meeting with Carlow winners Mount Leinster Rangers.

The first-half had been an even affair, with goals from Eddie Brennan and Philip Lydon leaving the sides level on 1-5 each come half-time.

Callanan shot three successive points early on in the resumption to give the hosts the upper hand and although Vinnie Faherty pulled back a goal for the Galway men, further points from the Emmetts marksman got them over the line.
