Padraic Joyce may have to change the make-up of his management team if he wants to become the next Galway senior football manager.

Joyce was joined by John Divilly, Liam Sammon, Mick Culhane and John Concannon in the Galway U20 set-up this year, but according to the Connacht Tribune, there is some resistance to the same quintet taking over the senior team en bloc.

Liam Kearns and Matt Duggan also are in the running to succeed Kevin Walsh in the role, with interviews to be carried out next week. The selection committee will then put forward a name for ratification at a county board meeting at the end of the month.

The selection committee comprises county chairman Pat Kearney, secretary Seamus O'Grady, treasurer Michael Burke, football chairman Kevin Clancy, football secretary Mary Judge and county board delegated Tony Lee.
