Barry McHugh accepts that Galway’s footballers have plenty to brush up on before the start of the national league.
The Connacht champions – Division One finalists last year – opened their 2019 account with a penalty shootout victory over Mayo on Sunday to qualify for this weekend’s Connacht SFL final against Roscommon:
“It is always nice to win, but it took us a while to get into it,” the Mountbellew-Moylough clubman told gaa.ie. “I suppose we were against the wind in the first half, but we were still sloppy out there and we have a lot to work on.”
