Galway football manager Kevin Walsh has been dealt a double blow with the news that Cathal and Patrick Sweeney won't be part of the panel this year.

According to local reports, the talented twins have opted out due to work commitments. They have been vital cogs in Galway's gradual re-emergence as a footballing force, with wing back Cathal having made 47 competitive appearances since making his debut in 2013 and corner forward Patrick having made 28 competitive appearances since making his bow in 2015.

Despite hailing from the same club as Walsh - Killannin - he won't be able to call on their services in 2019.
