Galway All-Ireland winner Niall Burke is hoping for more glory at club level, but stressed Oranmore/Maree need to improve on their performances so far.

The Galway intermediate champions lifted the Connacht club IHC title last weekend when they saw off the challenge of a determined Tooreen side at Athleague.

Burke scored 1-10 of which 1-05 came from play, but he told the Connacht Tribune that they need to improve in certain departments as they prepare for an All-Ireland semi-final against Antrim’s St Gall’s.

“They will definitely be tough. Ulster teams are always physical, big strong men. They will want to win this no more than anyone else would want to win,” said Burke.

“So, that is our immediate focus for now. We are not going to look beyond that. Obviously, if you won that, you would be playing in Croke Park and that is something a lot of the lads would treasure for the rest of their lives.”
