Galway County Council is hosting a homecoming reception in Ballinasloe for the county's minor and senior hurlers this afternoon.

The minors retained the Irish Press Cup by beating Kilkenny in Croke Park yesterday, but there was disappointment for the seniors who came up agonisingly short in their quest to retain the Liam MacCarthy Cup.

Galway County Council chairman Seán Ó Tuairisg will welcome both teams and management at the civic homecoming at The Fairgreen in Ballinasloe at 3.30pm. 

The two teams will then move on to Pearse Stadium in Salthill for the second part of their homecoming at 6.30pm.
