John Mullane has identified Johnny Glynn as the biggest single threat to Limerick's hopes of ending their All-Ireland SHC famine.

Such is the Galway full forward's size and goal-scoring ability that the five-time Waterford All Star reckons Limerick may need to double-mark him on Sunday.

"There's no bigger physical presence than having Johnny Glynn in the full-forward line. Mike Casey at full-back is playing unbelievable hurling for Limerick, who may have to push a man back in front of Glynn," Mullane said on RTÉ Radio 1's Morning Ireland programme.

He added: "Around the middle third, the battle between David Burke and Johnny Coen and Cian Lynch and Darragh O'Donovan will be interesting. You can expect a very physical battle around the middle third."

Mullane believes Galway's experience of playing in All-Ireland finals could prove crucial.

"Galway have been there before. They have failed before but got over the line last year. They have the know-how and will get over the line by two or three points and emulate the team of '87 and '88."
