Galway manager Kevin Walsh is experienced enough to know that they cannot take any game for granted in the Super 8's.
Last weekend, Galway ended a long losing streak against Kerry when they defeated the Kingdom in the opening round of new look All-Ireland SFC quarterfinals.
There is a lot of hype surrounding the win, but Walsh is keen to pay down the significance of it all and just focus on what he says will be a tough encounter against Kildare.
The Lilywhites lost to Monaghan in their opening game and they will be fighting for a win on Sunday, particularly as they have home advantage.
"I just saw bits of the Kildare-Monaghan match on Sunday but it was very competitive and Kildare will present a formidable test. Last Sunday was a good start for us, but it's only one part of a three-legged system," Walsh told the Connacht Tribune.
Galway will have to plan without midfielder Paul Conroy who suffered a broken leg during the win over Kerry.
