Galway U21 hurling manager Tony Ward has handed Jack Canning a starting berth at full-forward for tomorrow night's crunch Leinster U21 semi-final against Kilkenny.

A nephew of senior star Joe, Jack came off the bench last week to score in the Tribesmen's 15-point victory over Offaly in Tullamore and has been rewarded with the number 14 jersey by Ward here, with Ronan Murphy the player to make way.

The only other change in personnel from last week sees Killimordaly's Jack Fitzpatrick named at right half-back in place of Caelom Mulry.

Throw-in at Bord na Mona O'Connor Park is at 7.30pm.

Galway (Leinster U21HC v Kilkenny): Eanna Murphy; Ian O'Shea, Fintan Burke, Shane Bannon; Jack Fitzpatrick, Mark Hughes, Sean Loftus; Tomás Monaghan, Jack Grealish; Sean Bleahene, Brian Concannon, Cianan Fahy; Evan Niland, Jack Canning, Kevin Cooney
