Leaving the Ulster thing out of it, this is a good video. I like how the defenders protected their keeper as he went forward and also how he answered the jeers with 2 well taken scores. Suas Sios (None) - Posts: 1550 - 20/01/2017 09:27:21 1947243 Link 0 |
Horrible behaviour at the same time, though -not in the spirit of the game. Some consistent, severe sanctions, from referees would stamp this out fairly quickly. football first (None) - Posts: 1259 - 20/01/2017 09:43:26 1947249 Link 0 |
I know but there are still numerous posters that think it's an ulster thing etc. I'm just pointing out that it's not and it's common practice in every sport, everywhere.

Yeah fair play to his team mates and they were two great scores while under serious pressure and jeering. Best way to answer it.

Spillane picked a novel 15 in the Sunday World yesterday. An outfit comprising the 15 dirtiest players he ever came up against. Of course, it was couched in the usual 'manly' stuff language etc. Pope_Benedict (Galway) - Posts: 3410 - 23/01/2017 11:31:35 1948029 Link 0 |
Saw that myself, I had a bit of a chuckle to myself.

I know these are young lads but don't think that would be allowed happen in any other sport. Dubh_linn (Dublin) - Posts: 2312 - 23/01/2017 19:00:39 1948189 Link 0 |
would the referee not be entitled to issue black cards to anyone who body-checks or obstructs a keeper coming up to take a free. The reason why these things get out of hand is that the officials are too lenient. imagine this happening in soccer, it just wouldn't happen. s goldrick (Cavan) - Posts: 5518 - 24/01/2017 11:38:11 1948366 Link 0 |

You obviously don't remember the outcry after the Tyrone Donegal game on here. Joe Duffy and Mrs Lovejoy wouldn't have got a look in with the 'wont someone think of the children' crap that was being spewed on here
