Has an edge to him surely (so what) but never hear him whinging (lets his football do the talking). Seems to have no shortage of common sense about him too. Wonder has he any (ahem) Monaghan blood in him ??

Absolutely. Just exposes the ***** peddled by Senan, Ciaran, Alan, Paul the half back and the County Board chairman who should know better. Diarmuid will be delighted to hear how much he has gone up in my estimation!

I'd agree with a lot of what he's saying.

I don't think the game needs much change really. Some of the tinkering that goes on doesn't always seem the best thought out.

What about the crap talked by James Horan, John Maughan, David Brady over the years?? Kevin McStay was same when on TSG. It about time ex Dublin players defended the team. Ex Kerry players have done this for decades.

Good to see a top player calling things as they are especially regarding the implementing of new rules. If they don't work let it go. I know one of my own fellow county men is guilty of not excepting the black card as a complete failure. Fair play to him

Connolly talks common sense a rare commodity- he is one of the best forwards in the country if not the best. Most GAA followers and players know that these rules being tucked into a rule book make little sense thereby making it almost impossible for any human to apply the rules with consistency.

If Brolly knows the ins and outs of Dublin club football, and I'd have to assume he does, he could land poor Diarmuid bang in trouble for that comment!!

Can you expand on that if you don't mind as I don't get where you're coming from with that one .

Connolly has shown that he is prepared to make up his own mind and express his opinions without equivocation. He has to be admired for that but you have to fear that he will be targeted by the 'clowns' from their privilaged armchair positions.

I have no problem with ex players supporting their team, it's an orchestrated attempt by ex players to get a player sent off that I take exception to.

McStay did exactly that with Philly McMahon on the Sunday Game last year. Wanted retrospective action for an incident with Aidan O'Shea that should have been forgotten after the final whistle. Brady and Horan and most ex-players from any county would have more cop on than to try that.

Connolly is in no position to be calling other people clowns IMO .

I've tried. Obviously won't get thru.

It's a well known incident, circa 2008

Posters should not name players and accuse them of having common sense
