Right , haven't made a post in a while.Seen as the league is a few months away would like to see people's thoughts on new young talent for 2017 season. Predictions anyone ? GameOfTyrones (Tyrone) - Posts: 469 - 02/11/2016 12:59:45 1930882 Link 0 |
I'd say you can expect to see Lee Brennan from our own country make the breakthrough with the seniors this year, he's been on the panel but he'll become 'a name' this year. GetOverTheBar (Tyrone) - Posts: 1388 - 02/11/2016 14:23:17 1930919 Link 0 |
I'd like to see Stephen McBrearty to be given a fair whip in the league this year for Donegal. He has tremendous potential. Antifa (Donegal) - Posts: 143 - 02/11/2016 14:45:59 1930921 Link 1 |

Relation to Paddy? What position - I hope you don't have another one of him yet to come out of the woodwork!

He's Paddy's younger brother. Was part of the minor team of 2014 that made the all ireland final. He plays in the half forward line and has the makings of a very good No 11. Hope he gets a decent run in the league which can be difficult sometimes if you're in college and playing under 21's. Another Donegal player to lookout for in 2017 is Michael Carroll. Was part of the panel this year but didn't really feature but I can see him making an impact this year. Plays midfield/half forward.

It's hard to tell with our selfs in Kerry as Eamon fitzmaurice is a seriously conservitave manager and he rather go with the tried and trusted then take a chance on a young lad . KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 02/11/2016 19:22:50 1930993 Link 0 |

More than very excited by Con O' Callaghan anyone who has watched Dublins under 21s will know the score, hopefully next year may be his breakout year, the league will be interesting. Good to see him win the hurling Championship with Cuala last week. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4445 - 02/11/2016 19:56:49 1931007 Link 0 |

Now that jack maccaffery is back for ye next year would jim Gavin not try john small in the middle with Fenton ? He's fast athletic and a good ball winner. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 02/11/2016 22:47:25 1931055 Link 1 |
It's a possibility, but unlikely I would think. There are a number of options for midfield if needed McCarthy and Kilkenny play there for their clubs. Cain O ' Sullivan has won an All Ireland playing there to. I think Small would be far down the lists of Candiates myself. Michael Dara McCauly of course is likely to start. Both Emmet O Connailghe and Carthy have U21 All Irelands at midfield, if I am being honest I would have picked both of them ahead of Fenton as the midfieders to break through from those teams, shows what I know, they have been on the panel for a couple of seasons now., personally hope one or either gets oppurtuties in the league. Hard to say with Kerry. Retirements will mean that there will certainly be new names in the squad but the recent minor winning teams are still too young for senior football. Some names to watch out for are Jason foley, Adrian Spillane and Brendan O'Sullivan. I think if we got 2 or three new players into the mix it'd be good. I think James McCarthy will ne moved to midfield played several games there in the league last year and fared well As for Mayo a lot of Young Teent would like to see ypung Cunniffe from Ballaghadereen in Cunniffe Kenny Akram Loftus if available should start every FBD games and get a lot of league Football too Also like the look of Fioon McDonagh from Westport but he could be tied up as I expect they will go to an Intermediate Semi Final at least Danny Kirby & Ger McDonagh will b e tied up with the Mitchells too (Providing they get out of Connacht - of which there is no guarantees) but when available need to be whipped into shape and given a run of games at Full Back & Full Forward Liam Irwin excellent underage player will have to wait and see at senior Brian Reape also very highly rate by Dr Moyna in DCU There is young talent there whether they make the transistion remains to be seen - Heres hoping :-) belmay (Mayo) - Posts: 172 - 03/11/2016 08:12:32 1931072 Link 1 |

Con scored a whopping 4goals and 3points today for cuala in Leinster hurling championship. Some player be it football or hurling.

Saw that mate, he's some player in both codes , he was racking up those scores for the U21 footballers this year as well. Really hope he gets some games in the league and see how he gets on. IN a lot of ways it's a huge pity, duel star days are behind us, we'd have some hurling team as well. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4445 - 07/11/2016 00:37:21 1932226 Link 0 |
I'd say he'd be a great lad at the old Australian Rules!
