I have had the real Sam McGuire cup at my house many times and it never cost me a penny thank god .
But I suppose it would be handy for lads who'd be doing a bit of fund raising.

Even for a party for some hurling or football mad person. Probably other sports have something similar but I think it's smart thinking. Get a replica cup and hire it out for events, probably making some decent money.

The Dubs have it on hire for the past 2 years and word has it that the will give it back next year- but to whom I'm not to sure. I know Mayo would like it and so would Kerry and Tyrone/Donegal - maybe a few others also

They don't look great to be honest especially the Sam Maguire.

I think some trophy maker in India is making them. Probably as cheap to buy rather than rent if you go to alibaba. These guys are like getting paid in $USD.

The last time Sam Maguire cup was in Mayo was when Galway team brought it to a town in the county and it allegedly disappeared, it was allegedly seen been kicked down the middle of the main street, we don't want it in Mayo unless we actually win it and with our luck we'd probably lose it coming down the steps of the Hogan Stand, either that or Enda will tell us to give it to German bankers because somehow we owe it to them? Eh?

Good one and looking at the standard of politician that we have, all of them would give it freely to the German bankers and maybe a piece to the French bankers also to keep them happy

That was in Tuam, as I recall.
