Not sure what happened to the others, but Diarmuid O'Connor hasn't looked right in quite a while. Not since the qualifiers. ZeitChrist (UK) - Posts: 154 - 19/09/2016 13:35:35 1916261 Link 0 |

Got injured in the Kildare game and hasn't been right since. Doesn't look as if he's training. We could do with his energy in the forwards.

I hope Alan Dillon is fit to play a part in the replay. He is vital. Came in and kicked a great score again yesterday. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11219 - 19/09/2016 15:53:36 1916403 Link 1 |
Regan went off concussed , isn't there a 3 week protocol on concussion injuries were your not allowed play? Dillion to go off that soon must of been a bad ankle injury usually adrenaline would get you through but as I said it must be a bad one. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 19/09/2016 16:14:26 1916425 Link 0 |

Papers are saying doubt's around cillian and dillion . Regan is fine and just a jaw injury ? GameOfTyrones (Tyrone) - Posts: 469 - 20/09/2016 09:44:19 1916760 Link 0 |
Regan looked out of it

I don't think Connolly twinged anything, his marker appears to have made contact with his groin. That fact that he recovered completely fairly quickly would lend credence to this. There's a picture of the incident floating about. To be honest, I would be at all surprised if the two of them whipped out Gladiatorial short swords and went at it in the middle of a game. Two O'Connors carrying knocks by sound of things Scarabin (Dublin) - Posts: 116 - 20/09/2016 11:11:25 1916808 Link 0 |
I'd say his jaw might be broke . Happened myself years ago , you won't get up for a while ,gave me an instant headache too. . but I could be wrong ,might be concussion , I'd presume if they are saying jaw though it probably is. If Cillian comes out as being injured Regan will have to step up for the final , between himself and loftus with the frees . GameOfTyrones (Tyrone) - Posts: 469 - 20/09/2016 11:32:10 1916825 Link 0 |
Have to disagree here 'just a jaw injury' can still be concussion. I only dealt with this 2 weeks ago with my daughter who collapsed around 5 mins after a knock to the jaw in an u15's game and was out for 5 mins. told by parmedics that when its not direct hit to the skull it can take longer for the knock have effect which is why they reckon she didnt drop straight away. I have been warned not to let her play for at least 3 weeks and am bk in templestreet next week for check up. BaileBhlainsear (Dublin) - Posts: 27 - 20/09/2016 13:03:18 1916884 Link 0 |

Really feel for the guy if that;s the case. Dillon was playing in his 8th All Ireland final (in all grades) yesterday and that man deserves an All Ireland medal.

100% He came on and showed his class, one of the scores of the game. One of the small glimpses of something top class in a very poor game jimbodub (Dublin) - Posts: 20587 - 21/09/2016 11:08:04 1917370 Link 0 |
I believe it is 3 weeks It will be highly irresponsible to risk his health if he did in fact suffer a medically proven concussion jimbodub (Dublin) - Posts: 20587 - 21/09/2016 11:29:51 1917377 Link 0 |
I've been through the "return to play protocol" with my son this season, there is no fixed time. You must be symptom free from your concussion for 48hrs before you can do any physical exercise at all. then it is a gradual return through different phases of non-contact and contact activity progressing through each phase once you can complete it symptom free. So the key to return is the length of time you have symptoms and therefore can't start the gradual return, this is likely to be different in every case. downredhand (Tyrone) - Posts: 567 - 21/09/2016 11:59:21 1917395 Link 1 |
