Which Dublin forward is most important for them

(Oldest Posts First)

Theres a good argument for Dean Rock being Dublin's most irreplaceable player right now.

His free taking is so good that if he got injured it'd seriously hurt their chances, probably more than any other forward.

Having a good free taker puts so much pressure on the opposition defence as they know they can't get away with conceding frees.

Haven't posted for a while but for me Ciaran Kilkenny is by far Dublin's most important player. The amount of times he is on the ball, what he does with it & his physical fitness are very impressive. If him & Connolly get on the ball, the inside forwards always seem to have a plentiful supply.

A top class player.

in terms of being the biggest difference between winning a big game in a tight finish, yes - it's Bernard Brogan.

At the moment it's Kevin Mc. Might be Brogan the next day. Strong case could be made for Dean Rock though. Brilliant free taker -indispensable.

All CAPABLE of doing something special, yes. But then, so are most intercounty players.

But who is likely to do it when it really matters?? I would say Brogan, followed by Kev Mac.

Connolly probably does it more often but hasn't made a final his own yet.

Little between them but the man who could turn a game for Dublin was McCaffrey. Rock may not contribute much from play but is almost certain to score any frees that come his way.

Very hard question actually, you find yourself making odd reasoning in your head for not naming someone else, I'd say this will be a very split topic

Connolly is probably Dublin's 'best' forward, but when he's been sent off they've managed. Same with Kev Mc (until this year, unreal), Flynn is probably my favourite Dublin player but he's been fairly quiet (by his standards). I'd have to go with Brogan myself, Rock very very close behind considering his accuracy from dead ball.

Not a bad situation for Dublin in the old forward line these days.

The most important forward is Kilkenny. However if you need to quickly turn a game on it's head and reverse a deficit with a few mins to go then you turn to Bernard and Kevin.
