Players positions, club and county.

(Oldest Posts First)

I'm sure it happens in most counties that the starting 15 play central 'spine' positions for their clubs, indeed quite a few goalkeepers are outfield players.

Maybe some marquee corner forwards also do likewise for their clubs. Are most teams made up from 2 full backs, 3 centre backs, 4 midfielders, 3 centre forwards, 2 full forwards and a 15?

Can anyone list the probable line ups for the 2 finals and where they play for their clubs?

Nice one Joe, I know players move around due to various circumstances, but that line up has
5 Centre Forwards,
4 Wing Forwards,
2 Centre Backs,
2 Wing Backs
and 1 Midfielder!

pretty sure james mccarthy plays midfield for Ballymun, and Cian O'Sullivan plays ther emost of the time for Croaks. Haven't been to any Dublin club games this year tho so maybe a Dub can confirm.

A lot of midfielders on the Dublin side which is to be expected, as clubs tend to play their best players(except scoring forwards) in the middle third.
The forwards seem to be quite close to an orthodox six, maybe this is partly why they are such an effective unit?

Outside of McMahon, there are very few in the full back line, in either code.
