All Ireland Final tickets - let the mayhem begin

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I've already received half a dozen emails today (from people I'd never usually hear from from one end of the year to the next) asking if i can get my hands on any tickets for them. From experience will most Dublin / Mayo supporters feel confident enough that they'll get their hands on tickets or will it be a scramble??

Doubt many from Mayo will travel after what they seen yesterday. Plenty of tickets to go around for Dublin supporters. You must have some connections to get that amount of emails looking for tickets. How about people start with their clubs and work from there? Was lucky enough to get a ticket for 2013 final in the premium of Davin. Predominantly Dublin people, wouldn't describe them as supporters. Like most things now the All Ireland final is just another event for event junkies.

The company I work for would have a lot of connections within the GAA, i also work with one of the team so people think it's easy for me to get my hands on spare tickets. Far from it.

My own club gets very few tickets so a lot of people are left disappointed. I think a lot of the time it comes down to who you know or if you have the season ticket/parnell pass.

When have you known Mayo fans not to travel to an All-Ireland final? They will do so in large numbers, though given it's Dublin we're playing, perhaps many will be looking to pick some up on the day.

I was hoping Kerry would hold on yesterday as there are many Dubs in my club, and even as secretary I'd have to do the honest thing and hold a raffle to decide (in the event that we get one ticket, which can't be guaranteed). If it's anything like 2012 there will be a lot of people heading up to Dublin ticketless in the hope that they can get hold of one on the day.

I belonged to probably the largest club in Mayo for several years and they had to raffle their tickets for the finals Mayo got to in the mid-2000s, it may well be the same now.

Strangely it is easier to get a ticket outside the participating counties than in them.I know I'm no fan of either Dublin or Mayo but I'm a big GAA fan regardless and will go to any game going. I've two tickets sorted from Donegal and will be getting another two from down Carlow sometime before the final for two of my cousins who are Mayo lads.It is a bit backward the whole ticket system. IMO I shouldn't be even able to find tickets outside of Dublin, mayo,Kerry and Galway for the final.

Cairde Maigh Eo season ticket so sorted. Really is great not to worry about tickets. That said I have family members looking to go. Will be sourcing for 1/2 tickets...may get them in the US.

I've never heard of any deserving supporter or club volunteer not getting tickets eventually, be they from Donegal, Tyrone, Mayo or Dublin. I'm sure there are a few stories out there but from personal experience and the experience of friends and family in other counties, everybody who deserves to get a ticket will get one, even if it is last minute around the stadium. You'll see them go up on the various website for extortionate money even though every All Ireland I've been to (5, including Dublin v Kerry 2011) I've seen tickets offered for face value around the stadium.

If you have been a good Gael all year then Daidí na Meán Fómhair will reward you with your ticket. If you don't get one then you'll have to take a good hard look at yourself and try and be a better Gael next year. Ho Ho Ho, Merry Meán Fómhair....

I'm sure the Mayo band wagon will be out in full force demanding Hill tickets

Nowhere to be seen in their semi-final though

Mayo don't demand...they are allocated hill tickets. Both teams are entitled to the half price standing tickets. Grow up.

There were 35,000 Mayo fans at the Tipp game. That's 25% of the entire population of Mayo. When you get 25% of the population of Dublin i.e. 300,000 Dubs heading down the road to Croke Park let me know.

For anyone that hasn't checked their email, the email from the Gaa re: Season tickets is in. If your attendance is good enough for an AI Final ticket, money is being taken tomorrow (August 31st) so make sure sufficient funds are in your accounts!

There should be some switcheroos for hurling tickets with clubs in Kilkenny, Tipp and Limerick.

Real fans always get tickets. Every year there's a story about some aul lad going to games for 50 years who can't get a ticket.... complete myth.
Even if you didn't have a ticket there's always spares floating at face value.
Apparently Touts were selling tickets at half price just before TI on Sunday.
