Mayo fans

Why do Mayo fans boo everything? They boo any decision that goes against them no matter how obvious it is. Fermanagh, Kildare and now Tyrone game i've noticed this. Is it the bandwagon fans that come at championship time or why does this happen? It's not nice to see.

I agree with you Gotmilk. I think it's mainly bandwagoneers. A few Mayo fans around me here will clap if Tyrone get a good score. What annoys me more is the cheering when the opposition kick a wide. I'll be biased though and say we're not the only county to do it.

Id be more worried about the sledging by Tyrone players, mayo are reacting , and while I wouldn't be his biggest fan, and he also partakes , but the treatment of Aidan ose in this game has been shocking.

Yes it's not great to listen to. Have heard the fans boo when mayo fouled tyrone but expect it to be a free or them when Tyrone do it. Seem to be fair weather fans.

Because of spite

World v Mayo mentality

Today it was out of frustration i believe. Gough gave some strange calls against mayo in and around the tackle and was quite inconsistent on some of the afters that were going on. That is hard to watch

I never noticed it in the other games to be honest...

I'll assume you haven't been to any other Mayo games in the championship this year or watched any of them on the tv?

He was very fair I thought. Any tackle around the next was given and hands on shoulders were given. What more did you want?

Royal you have a real problem - little nasty anti- Tyrone posts nearly on ever forum - get over yourself it's quite pathetic!

Well Vaughan was fouled in front of the posts and got nothing, moran was pulled back in front of the posts and also got nothing, while the free that morgan missed was never a free. The hop ball given against oshea for the shoulder was also a harsh one, considering it was the tyrone guy who instigated it. There were a lot of little things like that, that i genuinely thought were poor decisions.
So maybe that is why fans were frustrated.

Thought our fans were fantastic...cheering and Supporting our team on all through. Booing was directed at referee. Many fans around me clapped Tyrone and their wonderful manager mickey Harte off at the end.

I don't care if it's directed at the referee or not. This is three games that i have noticed from both being in the stand and hearing it on the tv. Do Mayo fans think that referees are out to get them?

So Tyrone weren't sledging? Typical of you been from Tyrone playing the man not the ball.
So rather than your personal digs at me, answer were Tyrone sledging????

Theres bandwagon fans for every county and they are some of the most annoying people you can come across. There seemed to be a few bandwagon fans around me the day I was in Castlebar that were very infuriating. A Mayo fan actually turned to me and said 'I hope I never have to sit beside that bol*x at a game again.' There were quite a number of those types of fans in the surrounding area. In saying that there are some genuine good Mayo fans and I would not begrudge them winning an all Ireland. Those bandwagoners however are very annoying.

You obviously know little about the game just like some of your supporters. The Ref was very fair and got most if not all the key decisions correct which is unusual for Refs these days. Most of Mayo supporters do not boo when every Ref decisions is not for them. There are indeed followings in most counties who expect every decision to be for their team.
