Rory Gallagher - Neutral Venue

I dont see why this cant happen. In terms of finance, as there will be 4 teams in Croker this Sat lets assume 50% or 40,000 will be Donegal and Dublin fans. Why not get these 40,000 paying into Clones? Might even make money as would mean more Mayo Tyrone fans could get into Croker.

It would certainly make it fairer. Dublin have enough advantages with playing numbers, funding and logistics. As Rory said many Donegal players will be taking half days on Friday. I reckon in Croke Park we have about 20% chance of beating the Dubs, in Clones or Breffni I reckon that goes up to 40% and if we got to play at home in Ballybofey as they do I reckon 60%. I'm sure other Counties would love a crack at the Dubs when they dont have home advantage also. I know they went to Portlaois this year but I'm talking about Counties like Kerry, Cork, Tyrone etc at the business end of the championship.

There's no better feeling than beating the Dubs in their home venue.

Clones only holds 32,000 not 40,000 so to go to Clones would leave 8,000 people without tickets.

It would be nice to see the game played outside Croke Park, but It's unlikely to be the case in fairness, as it's all about the money.

I think the game should be played in Ballyshannon ha ha. Hopefully there woukd be a gale force wind and torrential rain.

Seriously though I think the games this weekend should have been played outside Croke Park. The atmosphere was terrible as the stadium was half empty. But for the Dublin v Donegal game I do think Croke Park is the correct venue as it will be a sell out. I don't think it is a massive advantage for Dublin as Donegal and the other top teams play so often there. Pain in the backside having to travel to Dublin two weekends in a row though.

To be honest - I'd wish he'd put a sock in it .
He has enough to worry about with Murphys form, no midfield and a defence that didn't turn up for first 20 minutes - on top of playing the strongest team in the competition

He was at the same nonsense in 2013 before the Mayo game and look how that turned out

The game would draw 65K* on its own merits - there is zero chance of it being outside Croker

Sure you could say every single Tyrone Donegal match should have been played in Clones between 2011 and 2016 due to the large crowds of people who'd want to see the match live instead half the people could go because Donegal had to play in Ballybofey unless they were forced to go to Clones in the case of the 2012 semi and 2016 final

It's traditional that the All Ireland series is played in Croke Park

All Ireland semis played in Croker - for years - that's where the players want to play and where the fans can see the players. Leave it Rory!!

Clones doesn't hold 40000. logistical nightmare with the small country roads around clones. Players want to play in Croke park.

Croke Park is a better pitch to start with. It defeats the purpose of having a modern stadium if you dont use it. Dublin will play where they are told to play. On a purely selfish note, a lot of Dublin fans support the hurlers. Of course not the same numbers. So we do actually travel a fair bit as fans. So I prefer the football in Croke Park as we have the magical mystery tour with the hurlers each year.

But Rory knows that the GAA arent going to move the game.....hes just deflecting attention away from his teams prep for the game. Which is fine.

Look all those Advantages were DISADVANTAGES when we didnt have a decent team.

Smoke and Mirrors.......Shazzzzzzzzzzam

40,000 can't fit into Clones and there may be more than that for Dublin and Donegal wanting to attend the match.
