Tough task ahead for Kerry in the Semi Final.....

When we face Lancashire in the All-Ireland Junior Football Championship on Saturday in Manchester!

It's certainly a novel occasion and who knows what to expect but it shall be interesting to say the least

Will the Kingdom reign supreme in Manchester or will we be dethroned by the Lancastrians?

Sounds like a write up of an episode from Game of Thrones.

What's the standard like? How many clubs would they be picking from would you know?

I know they beat London by a point in the British Final.

Pretty disgraceful comment that, why exactly is this a joke of a competition?

The Junior grade has been around since the early 20th century. Counties like Kerry use it (very successfully) as a bridge between minor/U-21 and senior players.

Maybe keep your cheap laugh's at Kerry's prospects to the Dublin forum and stop insulting players who put a huge amount of time and effort into representing their counties.

We all cant be dominating Juggernauts like ye are so we use the Junior Championship to give players an opportunity to give more players a chance to stake a place on the Kerry senior squad which by the way 3 of our current starting XV started out with the Kerry Juniors.

I know Dublin fans are accustomed to elite football at all levels but there is actually more to the GAA than just the elite.

Pathetic comment, It is terrific that the game is played across the Irish Sea. The GAA is far more than playing Gaelic Football at the elite level.

2 clubs in Liverpool and 4-5 in Manchester. I haven't seen them play but apparently the players come from 4 of these clubs. The club champions here usually win the British junior championship and have a decent record in the junior All-Ireland club championship so some good players here but Kerry would obviously be a step up. Most of the team would be from Ulster counties so maybe that will add an edge Saturday..

Think it's brilliant the guys and ladies keep the game going abroad .

Emigration is a very sad and moving thing .

I know from my time in the states how much it means to people .

The Irish abroad appreciate every minute of our games .

These are superb competitions .

Agreed - very silly comment.

In Cork, we pick players from non-senior clubs (with an exception if a player did not play senior championship the year before with a senior club) and it is great honour and opportunity for players from smaller clubs to be given a chance to play intercounty football. We have been very successful at this grade. A great competition.

John Mitchels are a Lancashire club aren't they?

They got to the Junior Club Final and lost to Brosna a couple of years ago by just 1 and Brosna are a very good outfit.

I know Templenoe beat them as well this year but they have an exceptional side at the moment given their tiny population

Dennis Bastic got his intercounty career started at Junior.
Plenty of junior clubs in Ireland, great chance to represent your county.

Stephen Cluxton plays intermediate for his club.

How many of the Kerry starting 15 can say the same? (Genuine Question).

Kerry are the same Bunnybunny in relation to selection of players it's essentially an U-23 although there a couple of lads older than that. I believe some teams like Wexford effectively use their next best bunch of players after the Senior panel for their Junior team

indeed seeing as we won the Junior title last year none of those players can play this year.

Winners of Kerry/Lancs will face either Mayo or Wexford in the final
