I may be wrong but has anyone else noticed time after time players getting on the HS team of the week when not even being the best player in their game or even their team that week. DoireCityFC (Derry) - Posts: 1580 - 12/07/2016 22:46:11 1882225 Link 5 |
"based on scores alone" hows that any better? SaffronDon (Antrim) - Posts: 2385 - 12/07/2016 23:10:21 1882245 Link 0 |
Typo. Not hard to figure out from the previous line of my post that they SHOULDNT be making a team based on scores alone. DoireCityFC (Derry) - Posts: 1580 - 13/07/2016 01:11:45 1882284 Link 4 |
Look,if it lets a Derry player get in the team,say nothing. ;-) Dubh_linn (Dublin) - Posts: 2312 - 13/07/2016 09:11:16 1882316 Link 0 |
yes you pray for me for making your mistake, not ironic at all! But back to the issue, how do you know certain players DON'T deserve to be on there? you'd have to have watched all the matches yourself to make sure and given the lack of coverage most games get that would be a tricky thing to get right every week, wouldn't it? I'd imagine they go on match reports because there are usually a few reporters at the very least at a county game. But at the end of the day its only opinion, so chill! you don;t have to agree with it.

Do you get RTE in the north at all Saffron or are you in the same boat as me i.e. relying on BBC NI, Sky and the rest on the God awful Premier Sports if you can be bothered to pay a subscription to those amateurs??

i actually agree with doirefc. he is of course 100% correct. he bases his argument on the games he has seen and can make a judgement on those. s goldrick (Cavan) - Posts: 5518 - 13/07/2016 21:44:25 1882806 Link 1 |

they can't even get the All Stars right most years from watching 3 or 4 major matches so what chance have you got with a team of the week? its much to do about nothing, a bit of fun, that's all and some people should just wind their neck in sometimes.

I usually get the GAA on RTE no bother Med, the soccer is another issue though, if sky, bbc, itv or bt are showing a game that rte are showing at the same time then they block rte, which is irritating because id watch rte's coverage over any of the rest.

Someone once said these wise words "some people should just wind their neck in sometimes" DoireCityFC (Derry) - Posts: 1580 - 14/07/2016 00:58:34 1882876 Link 3 |
I understand that Saffron because RTE are such great lovers of all things in Ulster. TirChonaillabu2 (Donegal) - Posts: 344 - 14/07/2016 06:27:23 1882885 Link 0 |
just responding in kind to a petulant remark. as for the name of your thread and opening post over such a trivial issue, well....

Might've been your local MP Gregory Campbell speaking generally about the bulk of the inhabitants of Derry? Then again I could be wrong, maybe it comes from the Byzantine era.

i know, but i was refferring to their coverage of soccer in comparison to bt etc, dunphy and brady etc are not afraid to call a spade a spade unlike most of there english counterparts who dont want to offend their mates. i prefer skys coverage of a GAA match though, much more relevant and less sensationalised than rte
